 I'll go with convention or you since you're the maintainer,
 but If I uninstall the port, I then have to do a
 
 sudo kill -9 $pid since there is no longer a restart script if I forget 
 to kill it.
 
 Also, if I upgrade the port which I've done at least 3 times in the last 
 6 months, it reminds me to restart it so the new daemon is actually used.
