	Just fired up KDE for the first time on a new machine
	with an fdescfs(5) file system mounted on /dev/fd, and
	KDE thinks that it can see a floppy disk there (although
	it knows that it's an fdescfs mount).

	mount_fdescfs fdescfs /dev/fd
	Start KDE, look at system:/media.
