The listed maintainer for ports/devel/openthreads (yinjieh at csie.nctu.edu.tw) 
does not seem to respond to email any more (since Oct/2005).   

I have a number of patches to upgrade OpenSceneGraph (of which I am the
maintainer) to the current release 1.0, which requires updates to OpenThreads 
(a dependent package).

I am willing to become the maintainer of OpenThreads as well, in order to
keep the OpenThreads / OpenProducer / OpenSceneGraph ports functional.
