>Description:
KDE lockup during the load if socks is enabled in the configuration mode and a application that uses it, like kopete, is stated during the startup.
>How-To-Repeat:
1 Configure dante
2 Have kopete running with out socks enabled
3 Exit kde and restart
4 Enable socks in the configuration pannel
5 Exit kde and restart
6 Wait a long time ;)

>Fix:
I don't have a fix, but i have a workaround (way to disable socks).

Edit the file ~/.kde/config/kdeglobals and set SOCKS_enable to false.
