$ uname -a
FreeBSD <hostname> 5.2.1-RELEASE-p3 FreeBSD 5.2.1-RELEASE-p3 #6: Wed Mar 17 22:09:20 CET 2004     root@<hostname>:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/<kernel>  i386

slightly edited to hide hostname and kernel configuration file name.
>Description:
I just did a portupgrade. The build process was several times
interrupted by an ASCII GUI that asked me about preferences.
I see 2 problems with this:

1. the build process is supposed to run without interrupts for console
input;
2. the questions referred to some packets that were automatically
installed through dependencies. I had no idea what to answer.

To summarize, I would definetly prefer some meaningful defaults. When
one needs specialized builds, he can and should look in the package
files.
