System: FreeBSD wildfire.danielrudy.org 4.9-RELEASE-p3 FreeBSD 4.9-RELEASE-p3 #4: Sat Mar 13 01:09:21 PST 2004 root at strata.danielrudy.org:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/WILDFIRE i386
>Description:
When portupgrade-20040208 installs, it also installs the following packages
as dependencies:
ruby-1.6.8.2003.10.15d
ruby-1.8.1_2
ruby-shim-ruby18-1.8.1.p3
ruby18-bdb1-0.2.2
When any of the tools for this version of portupgrade is executed,
I get the following error:
strata:/usr/ports/packages/All 1170 ### ->pkgdb -F
/usr/local/sbin/pkgdb:35:in `require': No such file to load -- pkgtools (LoadError)
from /usr/local/sbin/pkgdb:35
Portupgrade upgraded itself using the following command line:
portupgrade -arRpv
>How-To-Repeat:
from a root prompt:
cd /usr/ports
make index
make readme
portupgrade -arRpvd
Then try and execute any of the tools that come with portupgrade.
>Fix:
I did a pkg_delete -f on portupgrade itself and all ruby packages and modules. There
were errors deleting the packages. Then I did cd /usr/local/lib and then did a
rm -Rf ruby to completely delete ruby from the system. Then I did a pkg_add on an
older version of portupgrade. The package name of the older version is
portupgrade-20030723.tgz and it works just fine.
