pkg whatsnew?

Colleagues,

Recently pkg was upgraded from  1.5.4 to 1.5.5. Where can I read what
has changed between the versions? 

I can probably read git logs, but they do not seem to be tied to pkg
versions. Does anyone bother to document the progress in some kind
of HISTORY or WHATSNEW file?
