Yeah, the two upstream projects in question (Crypt-SMIME & libressl) are going
in the opposite directions with respect to CMS - the former is embracing it,
and the latter is removing any vestiges of it from libressl code base.

It would be nice to allow the openssl & libressl ports to be installed 
together.  I suspect Crypt-SMIME won't be the only port that needs features of
one that aren't in the other (openssl rather than libressl in this case).

But someone has to do that work, so that doesn't help you now.  Right now, the
state of affairs is that Crypt-SMIME + libressl should be marked BROKEN.
