can't ssh to remote FreeBSD machine

Hi,
When I executed ipfw on the FreeBSD machine ... I get this result -
>ipfw show
ipfw: getsockopt(IP_FW_GET) : Protocol not available
Is there any other firewall that I need to look at ?
