I think you're talking about rc(8).  I think Slackware uses a
similar setup....

Hmm, `man 4 linux` ??  I'm not too up on Linux, myself.  Maybe
also take a tour through:

/usr/compat/linux
/sys/compat/linux
/sys/compat/linprocfs

Maybe what's in /usr/compat/linux/lib?
