Hi.
My name is Jose, i am a very newbie FreeBSD 4.9-RELEASE user
from Spain. This is my first message to the list. i hope my
participation can be useful for others. Like many newbies, i
come from Linux world.
Well, i am trying to use the CUPS 1.1.19 for get print with
my small printer. I use CUPS with my other computer (Linux) and
the Stylus Color works well. I have this packages installed:
cups-1.1.19.0
cups-base-1.1.19.0
cups-lpr-1.1.19.0
cups-pstoraster-7.07
ghostscript-gnu-7.07_3
I got configure my printer without any visible problem, but
maybe it don't be so easy like "install packages and run".
From all aplications that can print, when i open the print dialog
i can see my printer ready and waiting for jobs, when i push the
print button i don't get any error or problem message.... but the
printing don't happen. From the web administration page of CUPS i
can see my printer, ready, but if i try print a test page i don't
have response.
In the "Jobs" menu i see that there are not active jobs, i go to
"Show completed jobs" and i see my jobs "cancelled at Sat Dec 6.."
I try to do "Restart Job" and then i get:
"Error: client-error-not-possible".
What can be the possible causes for this?. Maybe can are there
any missing file(s)?. Where can i find specific documentation
about "Configure CUPS in the FreBSD system"?, i tried the Proyect
official web site, but i don't found any related with this. Too
tried the CUPS official site http://www.cups.org but i can't see
nothing specific about FreeBSD.
Please, help me.
Thanks you very much, in advance.
Regards.
Jose.
