Does sendfile support sctp?

Hello, Does sendfile support sctp protocol? The sendfile man page description says:

"The sendfile() system call sends a regular file or shared memory object
specified by descriptor fd out a stream socket specified by descriptor s."

Without specifying TCP or UDP or other protocol.

Must I assume it's only for tcp sockets?
