I'm not sure you're hitting the same issue I'm trying to solve for
a while but would you try the patch at the following URL?               
http://people.freebsd.org/~yongari/bge/bge.rx.patch2

Before applying the patch above, you have to use latest bge(4) in
stable/8 or stable/7. Due to newly added APIs I think the latest
bge(4) may not build on 8.0-RELEASE so you have to use stable/8
(e.g 8.1-PRERELEASE) in order to test the patch.
