Yeah, BRIDGE is obsoleted now.

Yeah, seems like you hadn't yet read "man if_bridge" -- it has the
collection of relevant sysctl variables in section "PACKET FILTERING".
Moreover, man page has instructions on how to get bridge interfaces
up and running.
