I've tried that too - it doesn't work

I have this happened after upgrading the system.

The first thing I noticed is that videos in firefox play very slowly and I
can't record audio using ffmpeg. however, if run system "X" under" root  the
problem goes away. 

I started to study the problem and came to the conclusion that the sound works
strangely.
