Does your guest (trackpoint) device work?
On Lenovo laptops its possible to expose some extra trackpoint control sysctl
after placing of following in to /boot/loader.conf:
hw.psm.trackpoint_support=1
Not sure if it works for HP

Yes, please post it here in "from 'current command' to 'psm0: syncmask'"
format. It`s possible that we should not trust all data retrieved from touchpad
during initialization.
I`ll make final version of the patch within week or two and will post it here
for testing.
