games/corsixth dumping core in libswscale.so with recent multimedia/ffmpeg updates (bugzilla 204482)

hi,

I'm not subscribed to this list, so please CC me in the replies.

A user(CCed) submitted bug report 204482 [1] because the games/corsixth
port started crashing for him, the problem was reproducible easily on my
system and, as I reported in the bug, downgrading ffmpeg to 2.7.2 made
the crash go away.

I'm not blaming anyone, but I'm unsure on how to proceed, so I'm asking
in this list as maintainers of the ffmpeg port if anyone has some
insight about this problem.
