No but I very much doubt that's the issue since it still works
with other rtl28xxu tuners (one using E4000 tuner chip for example),
and it partly still works with the R820T one.

Yeah...
I meanwhile talked to the upstream driver maintainer (Cc'd),
and he confirmed there were driver changes - he suggested
changing REGCACHE_RBTREE to REGCACHE_NONE for a test in
work/webcamd-4.0.0.2/media_tree/drivers/media/dvb-frontends/rtl2832.c -
but that only made things worse, the R820T tuner got more stream
corruptions and the E4000 one that was previously still working
didn't receive anything anymore at all...
He also couldn't find commit 4f671fe2f9523a1ea206f63fe60a7c7b3a56d5c7
(mentioned in work/webcamd-4.0.0.2/sources.txt) - which tree is that
in?
