Weird volume behaviour on 10.0-BETA4

This did the trick for me. Volume now stays consistent between song
changs in mpd (musicpd).

I have the feeling the this violates the Principle of Least Astonishment
for most users of mpd. What would be the correct solution here? Having
FreeBSD-specific code in mpd that resets the volume after re-opening the
sound device?
