there was a v4L2 implementation for FreeBSD that worked
I checked some of it into P4 (v4l2 branch I think...)
we actually have permsission to use the V4L2 and V4L include files 
directly (I have email from the authors) as they are not copyright at 
all but just reflect the ABI/API.
