Hy,

I'm running on FreeBSD 7.0-RELEASE and having somes troubles with oss.

Oss was working properly directly with kldload snd_ich.ko , but since i've
reboot the PC oss wont work.

I've this error (dmesg) :

pcm0: <Intel ICH5 (82801EB)> mem
0xfebff800-0xfebff9ff,0xfebff400-0xfebff4ff irq 17 at device 31.5 on pci0
pcm0: [ITHREAD]
pcm0: primary codec not ready!
pcm0: <Analog Devices AD1985 AC97 Codec>

So i decided to try oss4 from ports, when i start it he kldload osscore.ko
and oss_ich.ko put /dev/dsp and other into /dev but no sound when i try to
put somme data (/dev/mem and other) into /dev/dsp i've this error :

osscore: Output timed out on audio engine 0/'Intel ICH5 (24D5)' (count=0)

So, i don't understand why since i've rebooted it doesn't work.
