Xorg and nVidia GeForce 8200 (MCP78S) - a better driver than vesa?

A small update on the situation.

Another workaround: I had a nVidia GeForce 8500 GT gfx card laying
about, so I used that. At least the Xorg 'nv' driver uses it. But I
don't know if it is any better than using the 'vesa' driver:
root at kg-v2# DISPLAY=:0.0 xvinfo
X-Video Extension version 2.2
screen #0
 no adaptors present
root at kg-v2# DISPLAY=:0.0 xdriinfo
Xlib:  extension "XFree86-DRI" missing on display ":0.0".
Screen 0: not direct rendering capable.
