I hadn't tried k3b before, so I compiled it up last night. It's rather
cool eh? Sure beats mkisofs.

I hadn't known about this myself. It's always "a learning experience."

My guess is Richard is trying to start openoffice but the binary
is openoffice.org-2.4.0; a sym link from openoffice to
openoffice.org-2.4.0 as part of the install would be nice IMO.

Or use one of the more user friendly packaged versions of FreeBSD,
i.e. PCBSD or desktopbsd. I personally like PCBSD, but Richard felt
it hid a bit too much from the user. Perhaps that is less true of
desktopbsd; I don't know. All in all, it I think I'm learning a lot
and perhaps the community (FreeBSD community) about what we could
do better. Richard has pointed out some failings we need to look at.

I'm going to set followups to freebsd-chat, I think that's probably the best
place now.
