RealTek ALC888 not working

I just built a new machine and installed 7.1-RC1 on it. Everything is
working fine except for the sound. The motherboard has the RealTeck
ALC888 audio chipset. The docs said that this should work with the
snd_hda driver. I built the driver into the kernel but when it boots I
just receive a page or two of the following messages:

pcm0: hdac_command_send_internal: TIMEOUT numcmd=1, sent=1, received=0

I tried to do kldload but still nothing.

Any ideas on how to get this working?

Thanks,
