Unfortunately, I had not. Maybe some day I will learn to check my
facts / experience every time instead of speaking about what I know
from the past. :-/  Don't count on it. :^)

I just checked; and tuning (by frequency, I haven't updated to the
latest pvrxxx version) from another shell with pvr250-setchannel while
mplayer is running works nicely. Thanks!
