Skype on FreeBSD - distorted sound - Please help to solve

HI,

I have a 3 speaker system. I am not into sound engineering so much, so
please excuse my ignorance on these things. Exactly which is the sub
woofer ? I have a large speaker and 2 small speakers... All the three
sound fine.
