IIRC this doesn't depend upon the snd_naming, but on a meta-module
which loads all sound modules (or something like this...).

He doesn't proposes to change the names of the files, but to change
the internal name of the modules. At least I did understand it like
this. As you may notice, there are a lot of if_ files in the kernel
directory, while the internal names mostly don't contain the if_
prefix (according to jmg).
