Hi,

Im having some fun trying to get my new motherboard and sound working. I
have an ASUS P4P800S, im running 5.2.

The sound chip identifies itself as :

pcm0: <Intel ICH5 (82801EB)> port 0xee80-0xeebf,0xe800-0xe8ff mem
0xfebff400-0xf

ebff4ff,0xfebff800-0xfebff9ff irq 5 at device 31.5 on pci0

pcm0: <Unknown AC97 Codec (id = 0x41445368)>

Ive recompiled my kernel, enabled pcm, sbc, smb, smbus and the intel ich
bus.

rush# cat /dev/sndstat

FreeBSD Audio Driver (newpcm)

Installed devices:

pcm0: <Intel ICH5 (82801EB)> at io 0xfebff800, 0xfebff400 irq 5 bufsz
16384 (1p/1r/0v channels duplex default)

It looks as though it's just the ac97 codec isn't supported ? Trying to
play anything results in this :

Apr 5 08:44:55 rush kernel: pcm0:play:0: play interrupt timeout,
channel dead

Any help / idea's / a kick in the right direction is appreciated !

Regards,

Daniel Hooper
