Using a USB scanner with SANE (via libusb on -current)

is someone able to use SANE with an USB scanner on a recent -current?
I'm trying to add support for a CanoScan D660U to sane-backend 1.0.13,
but the backend isn't able to read from the USB.

This is with libusb 0.1.7_1.
