Hello,

Please note that the latest "stable" release is visible at
http://www.mono-project.com/download/

It currently is 4.2.3.4.  4.4.0.40 is actually an alpha version, as per
http://www.mono-project.com/download/alpha/

I updated the stable version yesterday.  You can ping me when the 4.4 versions
enters stable.
