Mono 3.0.12 problems on 9.2-beta1

Mono porters,

My .Net application that previously worked on FreeBSD 9.1 with mono-2.0.14 is now unstable on 3.0.12 on FreeBSD 9.1-beta1.

Investigating, I built mono-3.0.12 from ports and ran "gmake check" from /usr/ports/lang/mono/work/mono-3.0.12/mono. It fails with the following error,

which looks like a trivial shell command syntax problem.

Before digging into the problems my application is experiencing, I'd like to work through getting mono's internal tests to pass.

Do mono's internal tests pass for you? Am I doing something wrong?
