Ath0 802.11 comes up with Sam's patch but shows no carrier and I can't make it connect.

On amd64 current I have installed the patch from Sam,, that seems to fix
the hal problem but it still doesn't have carrier and a scan only gets
"ifconfig: unable to get scan results"

I've even checked the handbook and it says basically what I've done.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
