I've updated source tree back to recent head (r290200) and tried both patches:
only first patch (for if_argevar.h) - problem persists, interrupt storm occurs.
Then, backed out first patch and applied second (for busdma_machdep.c) - problem persists.

And with both patches applied, the problem persists too.
