Summary

Build, retain, and manage a team of top-notch system software engineers working on the Panasas ActiveScale Storage Cluster. The team will focus on development and maintenance of the Object Storage Device(OSD) File System. The Manager must help build a highly motivated, innovative, and technically savvy team. The individual must have a track record of delivering high-quality products and be able to work as part of the management team on product strategy and roadmap for future development.

*         Develop strategies to ensure continuous improvement in specific functional area and related areas.
*         Influence the team's success through technical and people leadership skills
*         Work with the team to develop project schedules and drive high quality and on time completion of projects
*         Attract and retain high caliber engineering talent
*         Develop employees to enable them to fulfill their highest potential in relation to the mission of the company.



Experience/Qualifications


  *   5+ years system software development experience
  *   2+ years software development management experience
  *   Proven leadership in developing complex systems software development projects in operating systems, networking or storage systems
  *   Experience in one or more of the following fields: file system development, kernel software development, storage systems, networking software, program management.
  *   Strong UNIX and 'C' language background required
  *   Proven ability to consistently deliver products on time with high quality
  *   Ability to come up to speed quickly with new technology and innovate in applying that technology to our product is a must
  *   Experience managing remote employees
  *   Be flexible and work closely with geographically dispersed organizations
  *   Must be a very aggressive recruiter and an excellent team builder; must be able to partner closely with internal recruiters
  *   BS or MS in Computer Science (or equivalent)
