US-NJ-HACKENSACK: Unix Administrator (FreeBSD specialty)

Carroll-Net is leading the way in Offsite Backup. We're seeking a Unix  Administrator to help manage our mission-critical datacenter.  In this position, you'll support customers around the region from our Hackensack, NJ headquarters.

In this role you will:
** Manage day-to-day datacenter operation 
** Maintain firewalls, antivirus and identity management systems
** Manage data recovery and backup services
** Find new and innovative solutions to complex technology challenges
 
These are the technologies with which you'll encounter
** VMWare
** iSCSI EMC Storage
** FreeBSD and Windows 2003 Data servers
** Active Directory & Samba
** Apache, IIS & PostgreSQL
** Cisco equipment running OSPF
 
You need to have a strong understanding of TCP/IP networking protocols and principles.

Understanding how to integrate Windows and Unix will help you in this job. While we're a strong Unix shop, we're firm believers in the right tool for the right job. So it will definitely help your chances of landing the position if you can demonstrate knowledge in other systems. Of course certifications are always a good thing, and we value Linux, Cisco AND Microsoft certs.
