Hi everyone,
I've recently completed my PhD in astrophysics at Caltech, and have
elected to pursue employment outside of academia. I'm a FreeBSD committer
(since 1998). My UNIX and networking skills are strong. I am versatile
and solve my own problems. Research in astronomy involves dealing with
all sorts of programming and data-handling challenges, and there's nobody
you can run to for help. My academic experience has provided me with a
rigorous approach to problem solving, and experience planning projects
over the long term.
My fiancée and I are looking to relocate to the central coast of
California, probably the SLO area, but we're flexible. I may also have
time to work on short-term projects over the next couple of months.
My résumé, in PDF and plain text formats, is attached. I thank you for
your consideration; please to not hesitate to call or email if you have
opportunities to discuss.
