Hey Guys,

Thanks for all the great work. Not sure if you know about this issue yet, but didn’t want to assume. Basically, Cassandra 2.1.x fails on Freebsd 10.x using the OpenJDK 7, but works on FreeBSD 9.x. Additionally, in my VM using the Linux JDK cause the server itself to freeze, in VirtualBox/VMWare. The Cassandra Ticket below explains the technical details, and provides a patch, but the conclusion was not to fix it because it’s Java and should work anywhere, and they primarily test only on linux. Given that the same JDK works on FreeBSD 9.x, I presume its specific to the combination with the 10.x os, but I can’t be sure. I have attached the url to the ticket which includes the patch, technical discussion, etc. Anyways, thanks for all the great work!
