java plugin has no access to cookies in mozilla-1.6

Hi,

when I use an applet to access an URL which requires prior login,
I get a 500.  This is with mozilla-gtk2-1.6_2 built from ports yesterday

and jdk1.4.2p6_3.  Accessing the same URL from the browser window does
give a valid data reply, so I am assuming it is because the applet
does not have access to the browser's cookies.

It works ok with mozilla-1.5_1,2, so it might as well be a problem
with the browser.

Is anybody else seeing that problem?
