4.9-RELEASE/i386 and >4 GB RAM?

You could upgrade to 4.11.  I have a couple of FreeBSD servers that I need 
to keep on 4.x for certain reasons and I've got them running 
4.11-RELEASE-p26.  I don't have any experience with PAE though, so I can't 
comment on that.
