Yes, the problems with libpthread exist on both -stable and -current.
The problems with libthr are specific to -current. This does not mean
that libthr on -stable doesn't have problems, because there seems to
be a fundamental problem with the atomic operations.

It may work on -stable with libthr. I can check it for you if you
