To submitter:  Is this still a problem with more recent versions of FreeBSD?
Also, you may have more success with the "nfe" driver with this card, which
is now the default NVIDIA nForce network card driver in 7.0 and is available
for 6.x at http://www.f.csce.kyushu-u.ac.jp/~shigeaki/software/freebsd-nfe.html
