FreeBSD aileen 5.4-STABLE FreeBSD 5.4-STABLE #0: Tue Jul 26 18:02:28 PDT 2005 david at aileen:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/AILEEN i386
>Description:
I finally started using/turned on this box that was built a few months ago. I then notice these messages in the /var/log/messages:

Sep 13 09:18:49 aileen kernel: ad0: TIMEOUT - WRITE_DMA retrying (2 retries left) LBA=3100383

It appears to happen every so often.. once a week at the least or serveral times a week at the most. This is a brand new WD hard disk:
Device Model: WDC WD2500JB-00KFA0
Firmware Version: 08.05J08
User Capacity: 250,059,350,016 bytes

Here is my ATA controller from dmesg:
atapci1: <VIA 8237 UDMA133 controller> port 0xdc00-0xdc0f,0x376,0x170-0x177,0x3f6,0x1f0-0x1f7 at device 15.1 on pci0

Its an onboard ATA controller on the Abit KV8 Pro board.
