I've got a problem with my FreeBSD 5 system.I have a bootable CD and during boot session i receive the following message:
'panic: pmap_dev: Coud't alloc kernel virtual memory'
I suspect that it is about my motherboard (PCChips with Sis630 chip) because it has video buitl -in and my RAM memeory is shared with video card.
I had experienced the same problem with Mandrake Linux, Red Hat Linux or Debian versions (Phlak and Knoppix) but telling the kernel 'mem=220MB' did the trick.
So, how do I tell to FreeBSD kernel how much memory do I have (220MB in this case)? What command should i give to him?
Here is my system configuration: Duron1100, Sis630, video-sound-lan-modem buit in, 256MB SDRAM (from wich 32MB video shared).
Can anyone help me?
Thank you very much,

Claudiu Tanaselia.
