HEADS-UP: ftp-master.freebsd.org is moving (as quickly as I can manage it!)

In theory, no action is required by downstream mirrors.

However, some caveats:

1) It will have *new* IPv4 and IPv6 addresses. You shouldn't have
anything hard coded, but if you have.. this will become apparent soon.

2) If you connect via ipv6, beware that ipv6 reverse dns mapping is
not currently active. You'll see a raw ipv6 hex address on your
traffic instead of a normal name.

3) The old machine is suffering pretty badly, I've briefly turned off
rsyncd on it to help with a data copy. It should be back on within
1-3 hours.

4) While there's no immediate plans to increase the size of the
archive, be aware the new machine has *significantly* more storage
space. However, free space tends to get used... ... ...

For the actual transition, I'll shut down the rsync services again for
some final checks to make sure timestamps are correctly preserved and
throw the switch in DNS.

The switch-over could happen as soon as today or tomorrow, depending
on how long the verification takes.

I apologize for the short notice, but I am *very* concerned about the
operational status of the old machine and in theory it should be
completely transparent for mirrors.
