I'm not sure but you could maybe try disabling all but one of your CPUs
and see if anything changes. It looks like you have at least 16 CPUs. On
my machine, with 8 CPUs (2xquad core) I get roughly 150,000 PPS before I
hit a similar single-CPU-bound network processing bottleneck (also with
Intel® PRO/1000 PT/Server) - which is too low for my needs so I'm
searching for a solution. In my case I don't see transmission errors.
