For serial access,

a pm25 w cables is only 188. You need to put a FreeBSD box in front of
it for SSH access, but other than that it works well for our
situation.

For the archives, to set it up

set s0 xon off 
set s0 over xon off 
set s0 device /dev/network 
set s0 service_device telnet 6000
set s0 modem off 
set s0 rts off
reset s0
