10.* => 11.* disabled colored prompt (/bin/sh)

So, after I migrated to REL 11.0 & later 11.1 (i386) my prompt
of /bin/sh isn't colorized anymore. Instead literal string is displayed.

At prompt:
[31;5mSTRING[m echo $PS1
STRING
	... is flashing in red.

"Somebody" (Jilles?!) did "something" to /bin/sh.
