A few more points I forgot to mention. Nothing in /var/log/messages or dmesg. I just tried opening acroread on a 5Mb file and started scrolling fast in it. The machine froze at 18:37:26, the clock blipped at 18:39:25 and went back to normal at 18:41:35, which means over four minutes of freeze. -- Yaron.
