Does FreeBSD 4.9R-p3 support the 3Com 3C940 LAN card?

Hello,

Does FreeBSD 4.9R-p3 support the 3Com 3C940 LAN card? The 3Com 3C940 does
not appear on either the 5.x or 4.9 hardware list, but someone one the
freebsd-questions list said I should try the sk(4) driver. Which I do not
quite understand; as:

device  sk  # SysKonnect SK-984x and SK-982x gigabit ethernet

Seems to support a different kind of NIC. Can someone please clarify this
for me?
