Addition to reboot(8): reboot / halt reasons

I tend to disagree. AFAIK was shutdown part of BSD already in the
early days.
The usage differs from SysV shutdown, though. 
IMHO SysV-ish would be to use "init <runlevel>".

And "shutdown now" is much less painful than kill -TERM 1 for
the faint hearted. :-))
